Rob Fischer

Rob began his radio career in 1991. Since then he has worked in media markets such as St. Louis, Las Vegas, and now in Memphis. Rob is presently the host of the Sports Bar on Sports 56 WHBQ. In addition to this daily show, Rob hosts other programs for Sports 56 WHBQ, including a weekly golf show.  Rob is also the sideline reporter for the Memphis Grizzlies television broadcasts.

Rob has also had experience outside of the radio market, taking on several television opportunities. Since 2003, Rob has been the color analyst for the University of Memphis Tigers football games. Rob was the host of “Monday Night Football” pre-game broadcasts on ABC in St. Louis, and has been an actor/announcer in regional commercials. Further television experience can be found in the college basketball, high school basketball, minor league baseball, and professional soccer games that Rob has called.

Rob began his radio career in St.Louis hosting a daily talk show, St. Louis Rams pre and post-game shows, as well as a weekly football show with former Rams wide receiver, Jack Snow. In addition to his involvement with the St. Louis Rams and football, Rob was a contributor for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and St. Louis Blues hockey post-game shows. Rob was also the play-by-play voice for the Missouri Valley Conference basketball tournament, the KMOX Coca-Cola high school basketball shootout, St. Louis University baseball, St. Louis Ambush soccer, St. Louis Vipers hockey, and was the blow-by-blow announcer for professional boxing in St. Louis.

In Las Vegas, Rob hosted a nightly six-hour call-in show, as well as weekly hockey and football programs with NHL hall of famer, Phil Esposito and former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst, Sean Salisbury.

Throughout his broadcast career, Rob has covered major sporting events like the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby, the Breeder’s Cup, the Indianapolis 500, the NCAA Basketball Final 4, the Summer Olympics, NFL training camp, NBA training camp, NHL training camp, and MLB spring training.

Rob has been recognized for his work from his peers when, in 2000, he was named the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Sportscaster of the Year for the state of Missouri.
